Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 500 g 1.1 lbs ground pork sausage
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: herbs or spices of your choice for seasoning

Instructions

  • Boiling the Eggs: Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the eggs simmer for 7 minutes for a slightly soft yolk or 8-9 minutes for a firmer yolk. Once done, remove the eggs from the hot water and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to cool.
  • Peeling the Eggs: Once the eggs are cooled, carefully peel off the shells. Set aside.
  • Preparing the Sausage Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork sausage with salt, pepper, and any optional herbs or spices you desire. Mix well until the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the sausage.
  • Forming the Scotch Eggs: Divide the sausage mixture into 4 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a thin patty. Place a boiled egg in the center of each patty and gently wrap the sausage around the egg, ensuring it is completely covered.
  • Air Frying: Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (356°F) for about 5 minutes. Once preheated, place the wrapped eggs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each one. Cook in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes, or until the sausage is cooked through and golden brown.
  • Serving: Once cooked, remove the carnivore Scotch eggs from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm or at room temperature as a delicious carnivore-friendly snack or meal.
