This simple recipe is a vegetarian favorite. A simple tofu scramble has only four ingredients and can be a tasty plant-based meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Tofu scramble can be served on top of a toast, with a whole grain, in a whole grain wrap, or simply on its own. It’s so easy to make, high in protein and only requires 4 ingredients. Customize with added optional ingredients.
Tofu Scramble
Ingredients
- 1 block organic non-GMO tofu (typically 14oz)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½-1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- ⅛-¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS:
- Sauteed onion
- Sauteed vegetables: broccoli Spinach, and zucchini work great
- Additional spices: garlic paprika, cumin are all great choices.
Instructions
- Drain the tofu and crumble it into a large mixing bowl.
- Heat a deep skillet and add a splash of olive oil to prevent sticking.
- If using onions, add to pan and saute until translucent.
- If using other vegetables, add them to the pan and saute until nearly tender.
- Add tofu and spices and mix until well combined and cook medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
