Brown rice is a fiber-rich grain that is a good source of protein, micro nutrients (like folic acid), and minerals, such as selenium.

Prep Time 45 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes
Servings 2.5 Cups


  • 1 cup of brown rice (our favorite is short grain brown rice)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • cup of water


  • Place rice in pot with salt and water.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Cover pot and reduce to a simmer for 45-50 minutes or until all water is absorbed.
  • Do not stir rice while cooking.
  • Fluff with fork and serve
