Ingredients

  • 12 slices of bacon
  • 12 cooked meatballs preferably made from a mix of ground beef and pork for optimal flavor and fat content
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese or any other preferred cheese that melts well

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  • Form Bacon Cups: Use a muffin tin for this step. Wrap each slice of bacon inside the wells of the tin, creating a cup shape. You might need to cut some bacon in half to ensure it fits well and covers the sides.
  • Bake Bacon Cups: Place in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the bacon is partially cooked but not completely crisp. This ensures it can hold the meatballs and cheese later.
  • Add Meatballs and Cheese: Remove the muffin tin from the oven. Place a meatball inside each bacon cup and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  • Final Bake: Return the tin to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bacon is fully crisp.
  • Serving: Carefully remove each meatball sub cup from the tin, garnish with parsley if using, and serve hot.
