Pork Loin Roast with Crispy Fat Cap
Pork Loin Roast with Crispy Fat Cap
Ingredients
- 1 pork loin roast about 2-3 lbs / 900g-1.3kg
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preparing the Pork Loin Roast: Using a sharp knife, score the fat cap on the pork loin roast in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat. This helps the fat render and the skin crisp up during cooking. Season the entire roast generously with salt, including the scored fat cap.
- Preheating the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (356°F) for about 5 minutes.
- Air Frying the Pork Loin Roast: Once the air fryer is preheated, carefully place the pork loin roast fat side up in the air fryer basket.
- Cooking: Air fry the pork loin roast for 30-40 minutes, depending on its size, or until the fat cap is blistered and crispy, and the internal temperature of the roast reaches 63°C (145°F) for medium doneness. If you prefer your pork more well-done, cook it to an internal temperature of 68°C (155°F).
- Resting and Serving: Once cooked to your liking, remove the pork loin roast from the air fryer and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a juicier roast.
- Slicing and Serving: Slice the pork loin roast into thick slices, ensuring each portion has a crispy fat cap. Serve hot as a delicious carnivore-friendly main dish.
