Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons lard
  • 2 pounds stew meat cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 cups beef broth

Instructions
 

Sear Beef:

  • In a large skillet, heat lard over medium-high heat.
  • Season beef with salt; add to skillet.
  • Sear until browned on all sides. Transfer to slow cooker.

Combine Ingredients:

  • Pour the broth over beef.

Cook:

  • Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until beef is tender.

Serve:

  • Ladle stew into bowls.
