Chicken Breast in Bacon Fat
Ingredients
- 2 lbs about 0.9 kg chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1/2 cup 120 ml bacon fat
- 1 tbsp 15 ml sea salt
Optional:
- 1/2 tsp 2.5 ml black pepper, for those who include spices
Instructions
- Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with sea salt and optional black pepper.
- Prepare Slow Cooker: Add the bacon fat to the slow cooker and place the seasoned chicken breasts in the fat.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the chicken breasts are tender and easily shred with a fork.
- Serve: Shred the chicken breasts if desired and serve hot with a drizzle of the bacon fat from the slow cooker for added flavor.
Optional:
- If using Grill, go over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 75Β°C (165Β°F).
