Shrimp Scampi
Ingredients
- 2 lbs about 0.9 kg large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup 240 ml clarified butter (ghee)
- 1 tsp 5 ml sea salt, or to taste
Optional:
- 1/2 tsp 2.5 ml garlic powder (for those who include spices)
Instructions
- Prepare Shrimp: Ensure shrimp are peeled and deveined. If they are frozen, thaw them completely and pat dry with paper towels.
- Season: Place the shrimp in the slow cooker. Season with sea salt and optional garlic powder, tossing to ensure even coverage.
- Add Clarified Butter: Pour the clarified butter over the shrimp, making sure each shrimp is coated.
- Cook: Cover and set the slow cooker to low. Cook for 1-2 hours, or just until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook to avoid rubbery shrimp.
- Serve: Serve the shrimp scampi hot, spooning the buttery sauce over the top. For a complete carnivore diet meal, you can accompany it with a side of animal-based foods like scrambled eggs
