Ingredients
- 2 filet mignon steaks approximately 6 ounces each
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon lard
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
Instructions
Prepare the Steaks:
- Pat the filet mignon steaks dry with paper towels.
- Brush all sides with lard.
- Season generously with salt.
Air Fry the Steaks:
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- Place the steaks in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching.
- Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
- Adjust cooking time based on desired doneness.
Rest and Serve:
- Remove the steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
- Top each steak with a dollop of butter before serving.
