Maple Breakfast Sausage Patties
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 2 t raw honey or maple syrup
- 1 medium garlic clove minced
- 2 t dried sage
- 1 t sea salt
- ¾ t dried thyme
- ¼ t black pepper
- ¼ t ground nutmeg
Instructions
- With clean dry hands, combine all the ingredients together in a large bowl. Be careful not to overmix the meat; stop when just combined.
- Place the bowl into the fridge to chill for about 15 minutes.
- Once chilled, divide the mixture into 4 equal parts on a baking sheet.
- Divide to form into patties about 2½-inches wide.
- Approximately 2 per serving.
- At this point, you can refrigerate or freeze patties for later use.
- Heat a cast iron skillet to high and fry the sausage patties 2 or 3 at a time until cooked through (about 4 minutes per side).
- Place the cooked patties on a plate lined with paper towels to drain
