Maple Breakfast Sausage Patties

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 t raw honey or maple syrup
  • 1 medium garlic clove minced
  • 2 t dried sage
  • 1 t sea salt
  • ¾ t dried thyme
  • ¼ t black pepper
  • ¼ t ground nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • With clean dry hands, combine all the ingredients together in a large bowl. Be careful not to overmix the meat; stop when just combined.
  • Place the bowl into the fridge to chill for about 15 minutes.
  • Once chilled, divide the mixture into 4 equal parts on a baking sheet.
  • Divide to form into patties about 2½-inches wide.
  • Approximately 2 per serving.
  • At this point, you can refrigerate or freeze patties for later use.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet to high and fry the sausage patties 2 or 3 at a time until cooked through (about 4 minutes per side).
  • Place the cooked patties on a plate lined with paper towels to drain
