Caveman Steak
Ingredients
- 1 t dried oregano
- ⅛ t black pepper
- 1 medium garlic clove minced
- ½ t sea salt optional
- 3 T coconut oil or tallow melted
- 2 8–12 oz pieces beef sirloin steak, strip, or tenderloin
Instructions
- Preheat a broiler to high.
- In a small bowl, combine the oregano, black pepper, garlic, sea salt, and oil or tallow.
- Place the steaks on the broiler pan, and brush both sides with the oil mixture.
- Broil 2–3 inches from the heat source (usually the very top of the oven) for 7 minutes for medium-rare (8 minutes for medium). Remove from the oven and turn the steaks. Return to the oven and broil the other side for an additional 5 minutes for medium-rare (6 minutes for medium).
- When the desired internal temperature is reached, remove the steaks from the oven, cover with foil, and let rest for 5 minutes. Serve with your favorite vegetable or side.
