Tuna Steaks with Avocado Salsa

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tuna steaks 6 oz each, 1-inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Avocado Salsa:

  • 2 avocados diced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/4 red onion finely diced
  • 1 jalapeño seeded and minced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • For salsa, gently combine all ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.
  • Season tuna steaks with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil and sesame oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  • Sear tuna for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.
  • Let tuna rest for 2 minutes, then slice.
  • Serve sliced tuna topped with avocado salsa.
