Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 hamburger buns

  • Mix gently until all ingredients are just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the Patties:

  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

  • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Assemble the Burgers:

  • Toast the hamburger buns if desired.
