Turkey Meatballs with Marinara

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground turkey 93% lean
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cups marinara sauce low-sodium
  • Whole wheat pasta for serving

Instructions
 

  • Combine turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Form into 20 meatballs.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Brown meatballs on all sides, about 8 minutes total.
  • Add marinara sauce and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Serve over whole wheat pasta.
