Blackened Fish Tacos with Cabbage Slaw

Ingredients
  

For the Fish:

  • 1 1/2 lbs white fish fillets mahi-mahi or tilapia
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Slaw:

  • 4 cups cabbage shredded
  • 1 carrot julienned
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For Serving:

  • 8 corn tortillas
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • Lime wedges
  • Hot sauce

Instructions
 

  • Combine all spices for blackening seasoning.
  • Rub fish with olive oil and coat with spice mixture.
  • For slaw, combine cabbage, carrot, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, and salt.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook fish for 3-4 minutes per side until blackened and flaky.
  • Warm tortillas and fill with fish, slaw, and avocado.
  • Serve with lime wedges and hot sauce.
