Blackened Fish Tacos with Cabbage Slaw
Ingredients
For the Fish:
- 1 1/2 lbs white fish fillets mahi-mahi or tilapia
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Slaw:
- 4 cups cabbage shredded
- 1 carrot julienned
- 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
For Serving:
- 8 corn tortillas
- 1 avocado sliced
- Lime wedges
- Hot sauce
Instructions
- Combine all spices for blackening seasoning.
- Rub fish with olive oil and coat with spice mixture.
- For slaw, combine cabbage, carrot, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, and salt.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook fish for 3-4 minutes per side until blackened and flaky.
- Warm tortillas and fill with fish, slaw, and avocado.
- Serve with lime wedges and hot sauce.
