In a skillet, cook the sausages over medium heat for 8 to 9 minutes, turning them so they are cooked on all sides. Remove the sausages from the skillet and keep warm.
In the same skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and sauté for 2 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
Add the bell peppers, basil, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne and cook for 5 minutes, until the peppers are soft.
Return the sausages to the skillet, and cook for 1 minute.
Slice the rolls in half lengthwise and fill them with sausage and pepper mixture. Serve immediately.
