Wild Boar Sweet Potato Chow
Prep Time: <5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
1 sweet potato
1 lb Wild Boar sausage
1 yellow onion (sliced)
½ tsp. 100 % maple syrup/syrup
½ tsp. sea salt
1.) Preheat oven to 250 ° F. Cut sweet potato into cubed triangles, place on a baking tray, sprinkle with a little cinnamon. Place in oven at 250° for 10 minutes.
2.) While sweet potatoes are baking, slice onion and place in saucepan over stovetop with a 1 tbsp. coconut oil. Cover, on low heat for a couple minutes. Add cinnamon a dash of salt, and add honey/maple syrup and stir. Let onions caramelize/simmer on low heat for about 10-12 minutes. Once onions are slightly translucent and have softened, add ground meat and mix together all ingredients. Add more cinnamon if you’d like… Continue to cook on low heat to let all ingredients/flavors mix.
3.) Remove sweet potatoes from oven, add to saucepan with meat and onions. May need to add a little bit more coconut oil (the wild boar sausage isn’t as oily just because it’s a leaner meat than regular sausage so I added probably about ½ tbsp.. of coconut oil once I added all ingredients). Cook on low-med heat until meat is cooked.
4.) Serve warm!
