“The Donald” isn’t what you consider a picture of health, but his beautiful and intelligent daughter Ivanka Trump has a few healthy eating tips worth mentioning.
The Comparison Trap
Before I discuss what we can takeaway from Ivanka’s diet, I want to mention an important realization I’ve made personally and professionally working with thousands of female clients.
Comparison in every shape and form is not only a distraction to your health and weight loss, but’s it’s a dead-end strategy.
Which is why I want to encourage you to “consciously compare,” because telling you to never compare anything of yours to anything of someone else is unrealistic.
The healthiest way to compare is to approach comparison with a learning attitude.
This is the approach I use to learn from my mentors, coaches, and colleagues.
4 Metabolism Transforming Eating Rules We Can Learn From Ivanka Trump’s Diet
1.) Don’t be afraid of carbs, instead focus on eating healthy carbs
The daughter of Donald and Ivana Trump admitted that before she had children, ‘I ate like a teenager. Carbs three meals a day, usually in the form of pizza or pasta.’
Carbs can definitely lead to weight gain, but it’s usually the types of carbs you eat, instead of the amount of carbs.
Similar to Ivanka, if you’re eating inflammatory carbs like pasta, pizza, pastries, and sugars too often you’ll struggle to lose weight and get healthy.
Metabolism Transformation Tip: Center your carbs and meals around “real” carbs like beans, fruits, vegetables, starches, and gluten-free grains.
2.) Make sure to eat plenty of high-quality protein
Trump centers her meals around protein, especially wild-caught salmon and organic chicken, and cut back on processed carbs to have more consistent energy throughout the day.
Over time, Ivanka started enjoying healthier foods and craving them over junk foods.
Low carb diets such as the ketogenic, Paleo and Atkins diets fuel rapid weight loss by inducing the body to burn fat for fuel, which is why it’s a good strategy to begin your meal creating process with a healthy protein.
Metabolism Transformation Tip: Protein is the most thermogenic macronutrient, so you want to sure to consume enough protein every day to keep your cravings low and your metabolism high. Shoot for at least 100 grams of protein every day.
3.) The best way to control your cravings is to properly balance your meals and snacks
Ivanka doesn’t mention this outright in her recent interviews about her lifestyle, but this is where your diet detective skills come into play.
You’re busy like Ivanka, but we all have the same 24 hours in a day, and she doesn’t let her busy lifestyle get in the way of eating balanced, high-quality meals.
If you pay attention to her meal explanations, they all have one very important element that isn’t discussed.
She balances her meals and snacks in a way that supports a stable blood sugar and fast metabolism.
If she is drinking a smoothie, she makes sure there is protein powder.
If she is snacking on nuts, she likes to add a piece of fruit.
For dinner, she eats protein with vegetables.
Protein, carbs, and fats are always in perfect harmony.
Metabolism Transformation Tip: Fail to balance your carbs with protein and fat and you’ll start developing insulin resistance and hormonal imbalances. Avoid eating sugars, starches, and fruits without balancing with a protein and fat.
4.) Avoid “cleanses” and “juice” diets that make outrageous claims
What’s the ONE diet Ivanka Trump refuses to jump on?
In a recent interview, Trump said “You’ll never see me sippin’ on a green juice. “I tried a juice cleanse, and it was a total disaster. For the eight hours that I lasted, I felt like I was on the brink of starvation. For me, it’s about making the right choices.”
Spoken like a true health-focused, fit woman for life.
If you take one thing away from this article and Ivanka, let it be the fact that restrictive diets aren’t the way to promote long-term weight loss and health.
Metabolism Transformation Tip: The best way to “detox” is to use this simple 4-step process centered around eating whole foods, avoiding anti-inflammatory foods, and creating a healthier relationship with food.
