Primal/Paleo Deluxe Breakfast

Primal-Paleo-Deluxe-Breakfast_700x366

I remember the McDonalds days, which ironically enough were the same days as my Asthma days, Allergy shot days, etc…“Mom, I’m a big boy I want the Deluxe Breakfast with TWO syrups.” Mom: “Okay son, here ya go.” I don’t blame my Mom, I blame no one. Not even McDonalds…I’ll explain later I haven’t touched fast food in the past 6 years and don’t plan to!  That’s really all that matters…

Look at how foamy the “eggs” are…I “try” not to bash fast food resta…places, but when given, I mean when I take the opportunity to discuss and challenge their ingredient choices I do, boldy.

Here are the 150+ “ingredients” in the Deluxe Breakfast, I use ingredients loosely, these can be and are found on their website:

Scrambled Eggs

Pasteurized whole eggs with sodium phosphate, citric acid and monosodium phosphate (added to preserve color), nisin preparation (preservative).

Prepared with Liquid Margarine: Liquid soybean oil and hydrogenated cottonseed and soybean oils, water, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, salt, soy lecithin, mono-and diglycerides, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservatives), artificial flavor, citric acid, vitamin A palmitate, beta carotene (color).

Sausage Patty

Pork, water, seasoning (salt, corn syrup solids, spices, dextrose, sugar, spice extractives), preservatives (BHA, citric acid and propyl gallate).

Biscuit (Regular)

Prepared with Liquid Margarine:

Hash Brown

Potatoes, vegetable oil (canola oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, natural beef flavor [wheat and milk derivatives]*, citric acid [preservative]), salt, corn flour, dehydrated potato, dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate (maintain color), extractives of black pepper. Prepared in vegetable oil (Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness). Dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent. *

(Natural beef flavor contains hydrolyzed wheat and hydrolyzed milk as starting ingredients).

Hotcakes (3)

Water, enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), whey powder, yellow corn flour, soybean oil, sugar, whole eggs, contains 2% or less of the following: leavening (sodium bicarbonate, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate), dextrose, egg whites, emulsifier (mono-and diglycerides, propylene glycol monoester, sodium stearoyl lactylate), salt, artificial flavor, xanthan gum, beta carotene (color), soy lecithin (processing aid).

Still with me? I’ll give you a moment to Wikipedia some of the words. Here is a link for one Dimethylpolysiloxane

I know it’s a free country and we shouldn’t “blame” any fast food joints for the diseased state of many people. I chose to educate myself and chose to educate you and others. You are one of the people who “get it” and I know you will help others “get it.”

Genetically modified vegetables oils, preservatives, additives, gluten flours, conventional dairy, meats, and eggs are just NOT healthy, it’s pretty simple.

So, enough bashing, let’s get down to business. I proclaim I and you can create a Paleo/Primal/Healthy version of any fast food item on the market. BOOM!

From scratch, that taste amazing, that looks great, and that your kids and loved ones will enjoy and actually BENEFIT from.

Coconut oil, no preservatives or additives, gluten free coconut flour, and organic meats. REAL FOOD! Gasp!

It’s literally as easy as eliminating the harmful ingredients and adding the healthful EATgredients and creating a treat. Hence E.A.T.

Here is how you make a Primal/Paleo Deluxe Breakfast.

*Note: Adjust for number of people.

*Note: The below recipe is for approximately two adults.

There are five components to the Deluxe Breakfast. Two of the 5 will be links to recipes on my blog (The English muffin and the coconut flour pancakes).

Let’s do one component at the time, starting with the most time consuming recipe:

1.)    Gluten-Free Coconut Flour English Muffins

As the muffins are baking, prepare the hash browns, sausage patty’s and pancake batter.

2.)    Coconut Flour Pancakes

3.)    Sweet potato hash browns

EATgredients:

  • One medium sweet potato, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp. coconut oil/butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Steps to crEATe:

1.)    Once shredded (I used a food processor for fast shredding), fry sweet potatoes in coconut oil/butter, season and stir for about 8-10 minutes, until brown.

4.)    Sausage Patty

EATgredients:

  • One link natural pork sausage
  • 1 Tbsp. coconut oil

Steps to crEATe:

1.)    In patty form, fry in coconut oil in medium griddle pan.

2.)    Cook for about 3 minutes on each side and 2 minutes again (depending on thickness).

5.)    Scrambled Eggs:

EATgredients:

  • 5 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. coconut oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Steps to crEATe:

1.)    Whip eggs in small bowl and scramble with coconut oil medium pan.

There you have it:

1.)    Coconut flour HOTcakes

2.)    Gluten-free English muffin

3.)    Scrambled eggs

4.)    Sweet potato hash browns

5.)    Organic pork sausage patty

The original version leaves you tired, bloated, and fatigued. Not to mention, the negative on thyroid and metabolic function.

The paleo/primal version leaves you energized and happy! Keeps your metabolism skyhigh, digestion uninhibited, and your body smiling.

Please let me know what kinds of compliments you get challenging the king of fast food!

Yours in primal fast food health,

Nick
