Celebrities and models literally get paid to look good.
Because of this (and a few thousand other reasons), you should NEVER compare your body to a celebrity or model.
It just doesn’t make sense.
You can, however, compare your habits to another’s habits.
This makes perfect sense, since one of the best ways to succeed in body transformation is to model success.
World class success coach Tony Robbins says in his best selling book “Awaken The Giant Within” best: “The surest way to achieve success is to model someone who is already successful. If you don’t have good models, find someone who is the best in your chosen field and emulate them. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel – simply learn from the best.”
While we won’t be comparing Gisele’s body to yours, her diet plan can shed some light on a few metabolism boosting tips to help you get lean.
6 Metabolism-Boosting Tips to Steal from Gisele Bundchen’s Diet:
1.) Eat Your Vegetables
One of the few things nutritionists and weight loss experts agree on is that vegetables should be a huge part of any healthy weight loss diet. Gisele and Tom Brady consume local and organic vegetables with almost every meal, which is probably one of the reasons they stay healthy and trim. I know it’s not always feasible to buy organic vegetables or visit your local farmer’s markets every weekend, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for not eating vegetables.
Don’t get too wrapped up in eating organic vegetables, especially if you’re not used to eating a lot of vegetables. Focus on increasing your daily intake just 2-4 servings per day.
You can add vegetables to smoothies, stir-frys, omelets, baked dishes, crock pots, etc…the possibilities are endless.
2.) Eat Plenty of Protein
Protein isn’t just for “bros” and “gym rats.” Getting adequate protein should be a the top of every woman’s mind if they want to boost their metabolism and/or lose excess body fat. Gisele starts off every meal with an organic animal protein or plant-based protein like legumes and nuts.
Protein is the most thermogenic of macronutrients, meaning it burns more calories to digest and assimilate in the body than carbs or fats. Protein promotes fat oxidation and has a unique ability to conserve lean muscle mass.
Losing lean muscle from inadequate protein consumption guarantees fat gain and more stubborn fat. Gisele might not understand the science behind fat loss, but she gets that she needs to eat protein with every meal to stay slim.
3.) Eat Healthy Grains
You’ll find brown rice, quinoa, and beans on Gisele’s plate, especially she is going animal protein free for a meal or two throughout her week.
Brown rice is loaded with manganese, a critical component of a very important antioxidant enzyme called superoxide dismutase. This enzyme protects the mitochondria (where your energy is made) from free radicals. So it slows the metabolic aging process.
One of the problem with grains is they are not complete proteins, with the exception of Quinoa. Quinoa serves as on the only plant sources of protein that is complete.
I would bet that Gisele soaks her beans (or has someone soak her beans), since that significantly improves the nutritional value. Beans are helpful with digestive health, which helps the body send crucial nutrients and minerals for the thousands of metabolic processes.
Grains can be a healthy part of your diet.
4.) Cook With Coconut Oil
If you haven’t switched to coconut oil, you’re really doing your metabolism a disservice. How do I know?
If you’re using any other oil other than coconut oil, you’re using an oil that is breaking down and oxidizing when you’re heating it up, causing cellular damage.
That’s how I know.
I wrote about the 7 reasons you should start eating coconut oil here: https://upgradedhealth.net/7-reasons-to-eat-2-tbsp-of-coconut-oil-every-day/
Gisele must-have read my article.
Fats, especially the ones found in coconut oil (MCTs and lauric acid) are important components to a healthy, fat-burning metabolism
5.) Go Gluten-Free
Most people think gluten-free is just some diet fad. Those people either haven’t tried going gluten-free or they are friends with one of those annoying types that go around telling everyone they are gluten-free.
Guess what? You can be gluten-free without telling the world about it.
Gisele avoids gluten, just like I recommend to my clients. Gluten is one of the most inflammatory foods in most women’s diets and the solution is so simple.
Either avoid bread, pastas, cereals, etc…OR find a substitution like gluten-free bread, brown rice pasta, and oats.
It’s OK to eat gluten every now and then as a cheat or treat, but when you eliminate it from your diet at least 85% you’ll notice a drastic improvement in your health and metabolic health.
6.) Eat Your Carbohydrates
I was glad to see Gisele eating fruit and drinking coconut water. This tells me she is not afraid of carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates, specifically glucose is our bodies primary fuel source. We can only go for so long before our body starts breaking down muscle tissue to fuel our brain and metabolic functions.
While it’s 100% accurate that excess consumption of processed carbs and sugar will make you fat and sick, carbs are NOT necessarily the enemy…
… Especially if you exercise.
Increased consumption of the RIGHT carbs at the RIGHT times (after exercise is best), can INCREASE metabolic rate, improve conversion of T4 to T3 (thyroid hormones), increased leptin sensitivity (your #1 fat burning hormone)…
Gisele eats about 1600 calories a day, which is a great maintenance level for someone who eats 100% high-quality foods.
For most women 1500-2000 calories can stimulate weight loss, but eating real food is the most important aspect to any healthy fat loss program.
The key takeaway with Gisele’s diet is eat real food, start your meals with protein, and avoid inflammatory foods.
Remember, Gisele is a model with a millionaire’s budget, so while you might not be able to eat organic all of the time, have a personal chef, and get paid to look good you can easily incorporate these 6 metabolism-boosting tips to achieve YOUR model body.
