5 Must-Have Keto Diet Supplements

upgradedhealth

I am beyond excited about the critically important information I’m going to share with you today. It can literally change your life. It’s changed mine, and I’ve also used it to change the lives of hundreds and hundreds of people, including my loved ones, my closest friends, and many, many clients that I’ve worked with over the years.

What am I talking about? The ketogenic diet, or “keto” for short. Maybe you’ve heard of it. Most people think it’s just another “low carb” diet, but it’s definitely NOT. Simply put, the ketogenic diet is high-fat, very-low-carbohydrate diet.

When I say “high-fat,” I mean that 70 – 80% of the calories you eat come from fat…that means butter, cream, coconut oil, avocado, olive oil, cheese, nuts, seeds, mayo, and bacon. “Did you say ‘bacon?’” Why, yes, yes, I did.

When I say “very-low-carbohydrate,” I mean very, very low. I’m talking about 20 – 30 grams per day (possibly up to 50 grams once you’ve adapted or if you’re more active). Compare that to so-called “low carb” diets, which allow up to 10 times that many carbs.

On keto, you’ll be getting your carbs from veggies, nuts, seeds, and dairy. That means no bread, desserts, cookies, cakes, or chips…well, at least in the traditional sense. Even though you’ll have to kick the “junk” food to the curb, if you hang with me, I’ll tell you how you can eat even tastier foods when you’re on the ketogenic diet.

The rest of your calories come from protein—foods like eggs, beef, pork, poultry, fatty fish, and full-fat yogurt. Basically, you’ll be eating a lot of fat, an adequate amount protein, and low-carb veggies to your heart’s content.

Why I LOVE the Keto Diet

Now, there are many reasons why I love the keto diet, and why I’m so passionate about educating others about it and encouraging them to try it. For starters, many people who I work with either want or need to lose weight, and when it comes to weight loss, there is no denying the power of the ketogenic diet.

Scientific studies have consistently and convincingly shown that it’s an incredibly effective tool for dropping body fat. As a matter of fact, research shows that people lose 2 – 3 times more weight on a keto diet than an old-school low-fat or a supposedly heart-healthy diet. I’ve experienced those types of results myself and so have the dozens of people I’ve put on the ketogenic diet.

Why is it so darn effective? Simple.

First, when you’re on a ketogenic diet, you switch from being an inefficient carb-burner to a fat-burning machine.

Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, both scientific research and real-world experience have shown that the ketogenic diet profoundly suppresses appetite, increases satiety (feelings of fullness and satisfaction), and reduces cravings. One way that it does this is by boosting appetite-suppressing hormones while keeping hunger hormones at bay.

It’s a no-brainer…By reducing appetite, feeling more satisfied, and ramping up fat burning, there’s only one possible outcome: a leaner, healthier body.

But another thing that I love about the ketogenic diet is that it’s far, FAR more than the next fad weight loss diet. In addition to radically improving body composition and improving appetite control, research has shown—and I have experienced with my very own eyes—that the ketogenic diet also:

• Increases energy levels
• Enhances cognitive function
• Improves endurance performance
• Supports healthy aging
• Promotes heart health
• Improves carbohydrate tolerance
• And more

My Own Keto Diet Plan

Okay, now that I’ve shared some of my dirty little diet secrets, I’m really going to let the cat out of the bag. I’m going to literally walk you through an entire day of keto, step-by-step. Are you ready? Let’s go keto!

Breakfast: For breakfast, I usually have three eggs cooked in coconut oil, and 2 slices of bacon along with a cup of coffee (I prefer decaf, but you can have regular) with a generous pour of heavy cream.

I admit, some days, I don’t eat breakfast. Gasp! Don’t worry, my body doesn’t go into the so-called “starvation mode.” In fact, many of the potential health benefits of keto come back to the fact that, metabolically, it basically mimics a state of fasting. So, skipping breakfast—which is one form of intermittent fasting—works quite well with the ketogenic diet.

And because the ketogenic diet stabilizes energy levels and focus and helps control hunger so well, it’s really not an issue to “skip” a meal here or there.

Lunch: For lunch, I’ll often eat some leftovers from dinner the night before or whip up one of my 10-Minute Ketogenic30 meals.

Dinner: For Dinner I usually prepare a quick Ketogenic30 meal or a version of one. With 2 toddlers demanding snacks, time, attention, etc…my keto based dinners NEED to be quick, easy, and delicious (or my kids won’t eat them).

What’s great about keto though, is that you don’t have to cook and eat at home. You can literally order a keto-friendly meal ANYWHERE. It’s easy, and there are 3 simple steps:

1. Choose a protein source, like eggs, beef, poultry, or fatty fish. Contrary to what you’ve probably always done, when it comes to meat and poultry, the fattier the better.

2. Add some low-carb veggies, such as dark green leafy veggies, cruciferous veggies, asparagus, zucchini, etc.

3. Top generously with fat…seriously, be liberal with the butter, coconut oil, olive oil, full-fat salad dressings, full-fat cheese, nuts, and seeds. In order to make this work, you have to eat plenty of fat.
Snacks: Even though most people who are keto don’t battle much hunger, it’s perfectly fine to add snacks. Some of my favorites include nuts (especially macadamia nuts and walnuts), seeds, full-fat cheese, hard-boiled eggs, mashed avocado (otherwise known as guacamole) with celery sticks, and homemade dehydrated meat, fish, and poultry.

#1 Keto Electrolytes (I recommend these)

upgradedhealth

Electrolyte balance is one of the most critical – yet often overlooked – components of a successful and enjoyable ketogenic diet experience.

Simply put, low carb and ketogenic diets strip electrolytes.

Lower carb diets are diuretic in nature, meaning the kidneys shift from retaining water, and sodium, to flushing them. Many will experience increased frequency of urination when switching to a low carb or keto lifestyle,

This excretion of excess fluid is normal but not completely harmless, as it also removes many of the electrolytes – or minerals – present in our bodies. These electrolytes are necessary to enable many of the body’s biological processes, including proper function of the heart, muscles, nerves, even sleep.

A sudden shortage in these electrolytes is the culprit behind the muscle cramps, brain fog, headaches, low energy, and digestive and sleep issues that are commonly referred to in keto circles as the “keto flu”.

Savvy low carb and ketogenic dieters overcome this by ensuring they ingest adequate amounts of these essential electrolytes to protect their body’s natural balance, and support healthy mental and physical performance.

When to use Keto Electrolytes:

  • In the first few days of low-carb or keto diets to make the transition more pleasant
  • In the morning when fasting or to support mental performance
  • With meals to supplement mineral intake
  • Pre-workout to support energy and performance
  • Between meals to support electrolyte levels

#2 Keto Diet Booster: BioTrust Low Carb™ Protein (here’s what I recommend)

upgradedhealth

Even though keto is not a high-protein diet, it’s still important that you’re getting a moderate amount of protein, which should be somewhere around 20 – 25% of your total calories. A high-quality protein supplement like BioTrust Low Carb is key to making sure that you’re hitting your protein target.

A clean, efficient protein supplement like BioTrust Low Carb also means you can add the type and amount of fat that you need to customize your meal. For me, I like to mix a scoop of BioTrust Low Carb with heavy cream, a tablespoon of MCTs, and chia seeds. It’s a delicious snack that’s incredibly convenient and breaks up the monotony of eating meat, eggs, and fish.

While there are many protein supplements out there, BioTrust Low Carb is my top choice. The proteins come from healthy, happy, humanely treated cows that have been pasture-raised and grass-fed but NOT been injected with growth hormones (rBGH/rBST) or antibiotics. It’s also non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, and it’s completely free from artificial sweeteners, which is very important to me.

It contains a special enzyme blend (called ProHydrolase®) for stomach-friendly digestion and maximum protein absorption. Speaking of which, it contains a true time-released blend of proteins, which helps keep you feeling full longer and supports muscle growth and recovery. It also has a unique blend of gut-friendly “prebiotic” fibers, which help feed healthy gut bacteria.

Moreover, BioTrust Low Carb is THE best tasting protein powder you’ll ever try—and that’s my promise. Just click the link below and choose your favorite flavor at 20% OFF by entering the coupon code KETO20 at checkout.

Speaking of gut bacteria…

#3 Keto Diet Booster: Pro-X10™ (here’s what I recommend)

upgradedhealth

The truth is that I think virtually everyone can benefit from taking a probiotic supplement daily—regardless of what type of diet you follow. Research on the gut microbiome, which is science speak for the incredibly vast community of bacteria that live inside us, is one of the most exciting, evolving areas of science.

Most people know that probiotics (which literally translates to “for life” or “fit for life”) help us stay healthy by keeping harmful bacteria in check, supporting a healthy digestive tract, and aid in digestion and absorption. But that’s just the beginning of a laundry list of benefits that these little microbes can have. Research now shows us that probiotics can help support:

• Immune system function
• Mood and stress management
• Brain health and cognitive function
• Weight management and appetite control
• Sports performance and recovery
• Heart health
• Skin health
• Detoxification

I don’t know about you, but it seems pretty silly not to supplement with probiotics. And probiotics may be especially synergistic with keto. Without getting too geeked out, the ketogenic diet may work hand-in-hand with probiotics (which produce a special type of fat called butyrate) to suppress appetite and reduce food intake. Also, because it’s so low-carb, keto can also help “clean house,” so to speak, in the gut, leading the way for healthy probiotics to populate and fortify the digestive tract. Win-win!

The problem is that not all probiotic supplements are created equally. In fact, one of the greatest challenges is keeping these beneficial microbes alive on the shelf and through the digestive tract so that they can help you stay healthy.

Research shows that a substantial amount of probiotics die off during storage (due to factors like heat, moisture, oxygen, and poor manufacturing and storage practices). On top of that, 80% of the probiotics that do survive can be killed off in the stomach. In other words, most conventional probiotics never even make it to the gut—where you need them most.

upgradedhealth

It’s no wonder why you may not see what the big stink is about with probiotics. If you’ve tried probiotics in the past but didn’t feel any noticeable difference, chances are that there weren’t even enough probiotics alive to have an impact.

That’s why I choose Pro-X10. It is formulated with the research-backed Microencapsulation Technology, which wraps each of the probiotics in a special coating, protecting the beneficial bacteria both on the shelf and through the digestive tract. Ultimately, Microencapsulation Technology has been shown to deliver up to 5 TIMES more probiotics to the gut—where you need them most—than traditional uncoated probiotics.

In case you couldn’t tell, I’m very passionate about being keto, and I couldn’t wait to share my enthusiasm and experiences with you. Keto is way more than just another diet—let alone another “low carb” diet. It’s a lifestyle, and it has literally changed my life and the lives of my family, closest friends, and many, many clients.

If you want to be leaner, healthier, and live a longer, more energetic, more productive life, it could be a difference-maker for you too. I encourage you to try it for a few months to see how you feel. I also urge you to share this critically important information with the people you care about most. I’m positive that there’s at least one person in your inner circle whose life could be changed by the ketogenic diet.

#4 Keto Collagen (here’s what I recommend)

upgradedhealth

Keto Collagen is the first keto-friendly protein powder that provides complete collagen recovery.

Collagen has a full amino acid profile and is the most important structural protein in your body. However it’s largely absent from the average person’s daily diet.

Keto Collagen protein is 10 grams of collagen peptides from grass-fed cows in the USA for the recovery your body needs.

Our Keto Collagen is paired with MCTs and gut-healthy acacia fiber for great low-carb energy as well. Keto Collagen has everything you need to support your exercise, without the blood sugar spikes.

BENEFITS OF GRASS-FED COLLAGEN PROTEIN

Protein Is An Important Part Of Any Diet.

Clinical studies have proven collagen strengthens bones, joints and ligaments, improves gut lining and connective tissues, as well as improves your skin health.

Regular protein powders can’t do that.

MCTs (Medium Chain Triglycerides) Are Your Body’s Preferred Source Of Energy.

MCTs are quickly metabolized into ketones, shuttling energy to your body. Pairing the collagen with MCT fats slows the absorption of protein so that your body uses it for recovery instead of converting it to glucose within the body.

Other protein powders spike blood sugar levels. Keto Collagen doesn’t.

No Artificial Flavors, Chemicals Or Ingredients

We use only real ingredients in all of our products. Keto Collagen contains 100% grass-fed collagen (from USA cattle), MCT oil powder, and stevia leaf. Choose from unflavored, chocolate, or vanilla flavors.

Perfect Keto Keto Collagen contains the best protein and fats, without fake ingredients.

Each scoop is equivalent to 2 cups of bone broth collagen. As an added bonus, our MCT oil powder is made with acacia fiber, which has no effect on blood sugar and acts as a prebiotic to increase gut health.

#5 Keto Bone Broth (here’s what I recommend)
