1.) Do Not Buy Low-Fat or Fat-Free Products

Low-fat and fat-free products are everywhere, but these products are processed. They are full of sugar and high-fructose corn syrup. They will raise your insulin levels, make you hungry, and prompt weight gain. Fat-free products will also negatively affet your cholesterol by raising your triglycerides and lowering your good cholesterol (HDL) levels. Both are bad for your cardiovascular health when headed in these wrong directions. These products are processed and should have no place in your diet.

2.) Do Not Buy Low-Carb Products With Soy Protein Isolate

Do you like sugar-free foods and low-carb snacks? These products are one of the latest food gimmick being pushed on the public. While many of these foods contain less sugar, calories, and carbs most contain harmful ingredients, like soy, specifically soy protein isolate.  Soy protein contains MSG, a neurotoxin, as well as nitrites. Nitrites cause cancer. Low-carb products also contain chemicals, sugar alcohols, and partially hydrogenated oils. All of these disturb your hormonal balance and are toxic to your body.

3.) Do Not Buy Products that Contain Ingredients You Can’t Pronounce

Ever heard of butylated hydroxyanisole (BHT)? How about tert-Butylhydroquinone (TBHQ)? The rule of thumb on The 3-Week Metabolism Diet is that if you can’t pronounce the ingredients, leave it at the grocery store. These are most likely made in a laboratory and full of chemicals that have unknown long-term health effects. BHT and TBHQ are found in baked goods and increase the risk of cancer. 4.) Do Not Buy Fat-Free Dairy Products

Low-fat and fat-free daily are missing the good fats that help you lose weight. They mess up your insulin and sex hormones. Fat-free yogurt is loaded with sugar and high-fructose corn syrup. The added sugar will make you hungry, and prompt fat storage. Excess sugar will also negatively affect your cholesterol by raising your triglycerides and loweing your good cholesterol levels. Again, both are bad for your cardiovascular health and your thyroid function.

5.) Do Not Buy Food Items That Contain Unspecified Spices

When the average consumer sees the word “spices” in fine print, you may be intrigued, believing the foods is tasty and flavorful. However, many chemicals found in processed food are allowed to be called spices under government regulations. These are not spices; rather, they are chemical-laden fake foods. If the food contains garlic, pepper, cinnamon, or other actual spices, it will say in the ingredient list.

6.) Do Not But Foods Made With Refined Polyunsaturated Oils or Hydrogenated Fats

Products made with refined polyunsaturated oils or hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated fats are toxic. They will negatively affect your health and lead to disease. Partially hydrogenated oils translate into trans fats. Trans fats lead to disturbed hormones, clogged arteries, and cancer. To make matters worse, many low-fat and fat-free products contain trans fats. Sugar and trans fats are a deadly combination when you include them in your diet in any amounts.

7.) Do Not Buy Products with Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)

Many people are aware of MSG harmful effects. It can cause headahces and seizures. But many people don’t realize MSG can also lead to unwanted weight gain. If the label says spices, natural flavorings, citric acid, or anything hydrolyzed or autolyzed, it most likely contains MSG. MSG is a neurotoxin and it is present in many frozen dinners commercial salad dressings, and bottled sauces. Avoid it completely for best results!

8.) Do Not Buy Food Made With Artifical and Natural Flavors

When a food item contains this message on its label, it means it contains chemicals. Chemicals are added to give food a near-natural taste and a prolonged shelf life. No one knows what these chemicals are expcet the food manufacturers themselves. If you’re going to eat it, you deserve to know what it is. Avoid any food that includes natural and artificial flavors.

9.) Do Not Buy Products Containing Sodium Nitrites

Processed meats such as deli cold cuts, bacon, turkey bacon, sausage, hot dogs, and corned beef contain nitrites. Many frozen entrees do as well. The presence of nitrites, even in small amounts, has a strong correlation with an increased risk for developing cancer. I realize these protein choices are sometimes advertised as meeting the American Heart Association’s criteria of a diet low in saturated fats, and that they are encouraged by low-carb diet gurus who sell millions of books. In reality, it is still baloney. Take action. Do you want to drop the pounds and have a metabolic bosy or do you simply want to live a unhealthy, mediocre life and maybe even drop dead? 10.) Do Not Buy Products with Artificial Sweeteners

Artifical sweeteners found in diet sodas and low-carb products have no calories, but artifical sweeteners are more dangerous than sugar. Why? Becuase research done on animals indicates that artificial sweeteners may lead to more weight gain than eating sugar. NutraSweet and Equal also contain aspartame. When ingested, one of aspartame’s ingredients, methyl alcohol, converts into formaldehyde, a deadly neurotoxin. Aspartamt has been shows to cause cancer in rats. Sweet’N Low is not any better, maybe worse. It contains a coal tar compoud. Splenda was invented to kill ants. Artifical sweeteners will make you crave sugar and will make your body very acidic. It is believe that cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment. It is best to avoid artificial sweeteners to obtain a fat-burning metabolism.

11.) Do Not Buy Conventional Animal Products

Factory farmed animals are fed poor quality foods like grains, corn, and soy. Most of what I like to refer to as the BIG Three are genetically altered and generally promote poor health. If you are avoiding these 3, you should probably avoid food that eats that “food.”

Grain-fed animals are sicker, fatter, and diseased ridden. If you eat poor quality foods that you weren’t able to digest, you’d be sick also. Cows are meant to eat grass, plants and shrubs, NOT grains. What do most of you when you are sick? Take medicine! So the sick cows are given antibiotics, which stay in the meat. This is where the concept of antibiotic resistance comes into play.

Grain-fed meat is less nutritious than grass-fed, pastured meat. Stressed out animals hurt the environment and your body.

It’s almost impossible to completely avoid factory farmed beef, but you are doing well if you strive to eat at least “all-natural” or “organic” beef, because at the very least they are given hormones or antibiotics.

12.) Do Not Obssess About This List

I know, I know. I just gave you 11 rules that might have given you an anxiety attack and now I’m telling you to ignore the list. Well, I don’t want you to completely ignore this list, in fact, I want you to stick to this list to the best of your ability. It will help you get healthy, lose weight, and become your healthiest self.
